Maki-e Pens
Maki-e is a century old Japanese decoration technique.
Precious metal powder and paint are applied by hand layer by layer.
This is a very time consuming task requiring many years of study.
Pens decorated this way are therefore very expensive.
The decorations are typical Japanese like cranes, cherry blossom, birds, etc.
Recently a modern production method was developed using Silk Screen Printing,
after which the decoration is still finished by hand.
The decoration is palpable on de surface of the pen and this creates a wonderful
depth.
The advantage is that the Maki-e pens can be produced for a reasonable price.
The Maki-e pens we offer are multi function pens.
This means they contain a pencil, and a black and red ballpoint.
De GBTL models are Rollerball pens.
We supply the pens in attractive gift boxes.
